The little fancy clock on my computer tells me that it’s 1:18 AM here in St. Louis. Normally, on nights like tonight, I would be out cold – sleeping like a log.
I’m having dreams or visions or something that keep waking me up, but then I can’t for the life of me put it together once I’m awake. I wake up, and the only image that I can see in my mind is where I’m in a crowd of people looking at myself on a stage. It’s just a flash. It’s a weird feeling. The only thing that isn’t a flash, that keeps running over and over in my head are the lyrics to “The Glory of it All,” and then it jumps to the end of the disc to “Surely We Can Change,” and more specifically the most prominent phrase over and over “the whole world’s about to change.”

It’s like the movie Groundhog Day (only the time changes). I wake up, get up, try to go back to sleep. It’s like I hit rewind, and it all happens again the same way. Same scenes, same intensity build up, wake up, flash, gone. I can’t put it together. Do over.
There are some pretty intense things that are getting ready to happen with us, some pretty intense decisions – both as a church and as a family.
So, here it is now 1:33 AM. Wide awake, no hope of sleep until the Holy Spirit knocks me out for the night. I’m going to work on a website for :: neXt :: Maybe that’s keeping me up. We’re getting ready to launch a new focus for :: neXt :: October 16 we will be starting a new series, and a new format. We will be meeting together every other Tuesday for live worship, live message, live fellowship, and then the other Tuesdays we are going to have the message online only. The more we plan for it, the more excited I get about it.
Our series (thru Christmas) is the Lineage of Jesus with the scripture based on Matthew chapter 1, leading up to end on Christmas day at Jesus. We still haven’t come up with a title for the overall series, but each week is a movie theme. The series theme was originally along the lines of “Scene it … rolling through the credits of the greatest act not caught on film” (a little long), but each week will have a different movie title as its theme. Our first week is “Field of Dreams” as we start with Abraham thru Issac. You’ll have to check out the :: neXt :: site for all the movie themes and focuses. click on the far-left eyeball, then scroll the calendar.
Anyway, I’m going to do a little more web work to get the online messages ready to roll until I crash.
What’s with it lately with so many of us up so late in the night?

it’s 4:52 AM. still awake. i think i’ll give sleep another go. of course, i have to leave the house by 8:00 in the morning. we’ve got a big recording project this weekend.
but i did get most of the :: next :: site finished up.
when are we supposed to be at church today? i thought 3:30am…
i cannot get ahold of anyone.
