Someone had to do it
Well, we had our first weekend in St. Louis. My wife didn’t officially start until Monday, but we were there for weekend festivities, and my wife actually moved into our new house the week before.
To show support for my wife and our new church (First Baptist Church - O’Fallon, MO), I cleared my schedule for the weekend to participate in our global missions vision fundraiser golf tournament. I know, it was a tough call between unpacking and organizing the rest of the house or being out on the links at one of St. Louis’ toughest courses … but someone had to do it. I couldn’t not support our global missions vision, could I?
It was also great to have at least one Sunday where we had no official responsibilities. My wife didn’t have to plan and prepare for Students, Children or Preschool. I didn’t have to coordinate audio/video and then turn around and be a part of the worship leaders. We didn’t have to stick around after services to direct people to certain places or answer questions about Camp and mission trips and Disciple Now, etc … not that all that’s not fun …
It was just a relaxing time to be in Church and not have to BE in Church. But, that’s all behind us now - here we go!

Hey Jamon,
I’m glad you guys made it safely to STL! Must have been tuff having to play golf since I know how much you hate it =) It stinks that you had to leave us but God always has something in His wonderful plans for each of us.
I know your family will be happy there. Be blessed brother! Let me know if you need anything, you have my number.
Jay
thanks. it was tough to leave, but it was easy to go … if that makes sense.
it also doesn’t hurt much that a Cardinals fan is in Cardinals territory … especially from this view. I am going to miss my Chiefs coverage, though. Maybe I’ll get to listen online.
