Beagle Name Bracket Challenge

So, since sports has been a large part of my life and tournaments come right along with that, I figured I would put all the names we’ve sort of thrown out for the new puppy into a bracket and see how they match up.

UPDATE: so, some people have had some trouble with the bracket. Here’s what you do:

click the link below
click ” Championship Bracket”
click “Predict It” (i think?)
then radio buttons should show up where you can select your choices
click “enter” when you have each round picked

UPDATE 2: Well, it looks like you have to register to be able to fill out the bracket online. If you don’t want to take the time, simply look at the name matchups (i.e. – Baylee v. Dinger, Easton v. Dixie, etc) and determine which like better in the “tournament” until you get to only one name left.

Why not? Seems as long as you’re breathing you’re invited. Does anyone else find it a bit asinine that 6-6 teams get to participate in post-season bowls? Just add this to the list of what’s wrong with college football now.

I love college football, but this is just asinine! Not only to .500 teams get to keep playing like it matters, we now have the following as some of the bowl games:

GO CHIEFS!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – this I’m very concerned about this season mainly because Brody Croyle is now at the helm. 56% completion rating in limited action, 6TDs, 6INTs … and no evidence of having gotten better or at least enough to be considered to run an NFL offense.

That coupled with the monster schedule the Chiefs have this season … wow, we could be in for a long, long, long season that ends quickly.

My heart would like to say 10-6 … my head says more like 7-9 … my realist says 4-12 …

Right now the Chiefs have one quarterback on their roster who can win an NFL game … and it ain’t Brodie Croyle or Tyler Wishbone. It’s Damon Huard, the human fire extinguisher. – Jason Whitlock

Well, I think I’m heading down the road of agreeing with Whitlock on this one.

I know, I know Herm’s grand plan is to get younger … but (to me) the QB spot is where you want your #1 leader, right? And how is a guy who just threw for 38 yards against a mediocre defense (Arizona) with a long pass of 7 yards considered your main man? Aside from not throwing interceptions off his back foot like in the last preseason, Brodie Croyle hasn’t shown that he’s any better than he was last year and that’s troubling … since he’s already been dubbed the next Chiefs QB. At year 3 in the league, and a starting nod on the way – he needs to start performing like an NFL-level QB soon.

There are at least two guys on the street right now who have proven success in the NFL … and I have no idea why NO ONE is going after them:

Daunte Culpepper
Byron Leftwich

If they do decide to stick with Croyle, he at least has the cushion of the Chiefs’ conservative gameplans. The Chiefs run a conservative offense. That means they run plays that have a high percentage chance of being complete. We do have other playmakers all over the field. Croyle’s job is then to get the ball to the playmakers and let them make the play.

On the other side (defense), we are apt to look monstrous this season. We have the chance to be very in-your-face and aggressive … and that can only help the offense.

Cardinals v. Padres

Cousins from Arkansas came up for a weekend and a Cardinals game was on tap. The only seats we had available ended up being great seats … it was hot, but great. One section to the right field side of the centerfield grass patch – front row – we were the outfield wall!

T-ball week 2. This week was a bit better, but it was still like turtles herding cats. I think most of the parents have just decided to takeover a bit and help all over the place.

Team sports have officially begun. Last night was our first night of Tball. Much of it was instruction (how to run bases, how to hit a ball on a tee, how to throw/catch) … honestly very annoying for me after I have had our boys swinging bats and throwing balls since shortly after walking.

But, the boys had fun, fun, fun.
